OSE Frequently Asked Questions
The below FAQs have been copied over from Stream. FAQs were last modified Thursday 13 June, 6.05pm
FAQs for OSEs scheduled between Monday 10 June & Wednesday 12 June :
-
Many of the examinations that were previously scheduled for these days were made available for 48 hours starting from 12pm on Thursday 13 June.
Due to student feedback and to help ensure students have the best opportunity to prepare and sit their exam we are currently working through the process of making all exams from these three days available to students until 5pm Monday 17 June. This work should be completed overnight and all exams should be available to students by 10am tomorrow, Friday 14 June.
-
Students who cannot sit their exam within this window noted above should contact Assessment Services via exams@massey.ac.nz and an alternative option will be made available for you. The Assessment Services team will also provide you with information about what you can do if you are not able to make that alternative time.
-
We understand that this has been a very unsettling experience and that students have concerns regarding their exam attempts over this period. To help support students who may have completed or partially completed their exam during this period (Monday 10 June – Wednesday 12 June inclusive) we will be enabling all students to re-sit their exams.
The university will be able to see your original answers and your new answers so you can re-sit all or part of the exam and we will reconcile the answers. You will have the original full time-limit to re-sit or complete your exam.
If you have completed your exam and do not wish to re-sit it within this window, then your marks will be moderated to account for the fact that you sat it under closed book conditions.
-
The university will take into account the difference between proctored closed book conditions (if you do not re-sit) and open book conditions (if you did re-sit) and will moderate accordingly. This means that the marking will take into consideration the conditions under which you sat the exam.
-
We recognise the challenges of this week’s examination disruption and all assessments will be marked and moderated accordingly. However, if you experienced particular circumstances you wish to be taken into account, then you may apply for impaired performance through the online portal and provide those details.
-
You may apply for support via the Emergency Financial Support Grant. Please include in your application that you are applying due to the disruption of your exams during this week.

No. We can confirm that even if you saw another student’s information when entering PSI your exam will appear under your name. This means you wouldn’t have sat someone else’s exam and no one else would have sat your exam.
